Welcome to OlyaBlog!

Hello!
Thank you for visiting OlyaBlog.
Allow me share a bit about myself and my blog, how it can be interesting and useful for you.
My name is Olya. I am originally from Ukraine, but currently, I live on the island of Bali with my family, which consists of my husband, myself, and our three dogs.
Why Bali?
In 2019: I was a successful hotel manager of one of the best resorts in Ukraine, well-known in the industry and even beyond. I was invited to speak at business events and for students, and I wrote for a well-known magazine about the hotel and restaurant business in Ukraine. Amidst all this success, in the summer, I decided to quit. It's hard for me to explain in one sentence why I quit. Yes, I was successful, I had my dream job, friends, family - everything was great, but inside, there was constant dissatisfaction that grew every day, and at the age of 38, I wanted to break out of my usual life. And I did "break out."
Next, I opened a company called Consulting O.K., which helps business owners become better. Cities where I lived and worked changed, I traveled a lot - I started living.
Traveling to Bali was not any special dream for me. But whenever I got annoyed with some situation, I always said, "I'll go to Bali..." So I decided that I really should go to that island, since I planned to go there so many times in words.
My first trip took place in the winter of 2020, during which I met Santiago, my Brazilian lovely husband. Our relationship went through various stages over the years. And since March 2022, we have been living and working permanently in Bali.
At the end of 2023, I decided to launch my blog. So, what's my blog all about? In essence, it's a reflection of life and experiences in various forms.
To help you navigate OlyaBlog more easily, I've organized it into several categories:
Bali people
Engaging conversations with people from different countries of the world, about their life in Bali, about business in Indonesia, travel tales, their experience, and advice.
Travels
Here are stories about our travels on the island of Bali, Indonesia, and other countries. I provide links to all the tourist places we visit; recommendations for hotels, restaurants, museums; our travel routes. I will be glad if our travel experience is useful!
Bali life
A personal space about my life on the island, where I share my thoughts, experience, noteworthy events, occasional reminiscences, my relationships with people.
Beauty and Wellness
I’ve been a passionate fan of cosmetics and skincare for many years, constantly testing new products, studying ingredients from around the world, and exploring facial and body care procedures. This knowledge was very useful to me and deepened even more when I was a hotel manager, where there were SPA and a modern medical center. I’m also an enthusiastic runner, doing sports every day, and could talk about running for hours!
In this category, I’ll share what I love—beauty, health, and sports—along with my personal experience of self-care after 40. I’ll talk about the changes I’ve noticed, how I’m navigating them, and how I’m living my best life while embracing this journey.
Recipes
My passion is cooking. I enjoy this process one hundred percent, study and mix various recipes from the countries where Santiago and I are from and beyond, love discovering new flavors, and incredibly happy when people enjoy tasting what I cooked. In this category, I share recipes that have become favorites in our family.
Stories from and about Ukraine — from everyday life and cultural moments to the voices of Ukrainians living abroad and at home. “UA” is a space for authentic, heartfelt narratives that connect us to the soul of a nation and its people, wherever they are.
Serena Villas Uluwatu
Offering insights and advice on investment opportunities in Bali's real estate market, including details about our joint venture with Santiago - Serena Villas Uluwatu - which will be interesting for those who dream of owning a villa on the island and at the same time investing profitably.
I dream that the stories in my blog will be interesting and useful for you. To ensure that my blog does not turn into a monologue of one person, I will be grateful for feedback in the form of your comments, questions, subscriptions.
Thank you!
Best regards,
Olya.
